Senior BI & Analytics Developer – Tableau / Power BI / SQL

12+ month contract

Remote - but must be located in the continental US | Occasional travel to Springfield, IL
Employment Type: Contract - not open to third parties

We are seeking an experienced Senior BI & Analytics Developer to support a large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse environment within the healthcare and human services space. This role focuses heavily on business intelligence development, advanced analytics, SQL development, data visualization, and enterprise reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, complex SQL, and enterprise data warehouse environments. Healthcare, Medicaid, and React experience are highly desirable.

• Develop complex business intelligence solutions, dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data analytics.
• Develop advanced data visualizations, analytics, and mapping solutions.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts used to create data marts.
• Perform complex ad hoc SQL analysis and reporting using claims, beneficiary, and provider data.
• Work with Teradata and other enterprise database technologies.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Participate in project discussions, solution design, testing, and implementation activities.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing.
• Work closely with DBAs, data modelers, application administrators, and other technical teams.
• Support project planning, presentations, status reporting, risks, and issues.
• Present solutions and deliverables to internal teams and customers.
• Perform peer reviews and provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Maintain strong communication and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex Tableau and Microsoft Power BI dashboards, visualizations, and analytics.
• 5+ years of experience developing high-performing, complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and related database solutions.
• Experience with Teradata, DB2, Oracle Load Utilities, or similar enterprise database technologies.
• Strong business intelligence, reporting, visualization, and analytics background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong client-facing and team collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to team members.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage deadlines.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology, or a related field.
• Must be located in or relocate to Springfield, IL before starting.

• 4+ years of complex development experience using React, React.js, or ReactJS.
• 2+ years of experience analyzing Medicaid claims and enrollment data.
• State Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare industry experience.
• 2+ years of enterprise data warehouse project experience.
• 2+ years of Tableau Server administration experience.
• SAP Business Objects experience.
• Experience with Base SAS, SAS Analytics, or SAS Enterprise Guide.

• Candidates must be willing to participate in a live video screening and verbally walk through their technical experience.
