Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend coverage

Highlights

• High-acuity, fast-paced progressive care environment with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Work with diverse patient diagnoses including respiratory failure, stroke, MI, DKA, and complex medical conditions
• Utilize Epic electronic medical record system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Gain experience with advanced skills including conscious sedation, stable vents, high-flow nasal cannula, and telemetry monitoring
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary team support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services
• May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or valid compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in conscious sedation, ventilator management, and telemetry interpretation
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, dysrhythmia management, vasoactive drip titration, and insulin drip titration
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon contract signing
