# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day and night shifts available; 4-5:1 patient ratio; every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month; float rotation to ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units as needed**Highlights:** - 15-bed East Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac telemetry, post-surgical care, and critical drip management- Care for post-cardiac cath patients, EP studies, device placements, open heart and lung surgery patients, general surgery, and post-op orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring- Work with cardiac drips (Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, Amiodarone), chest tubes, epidurals, and PCA pumps- Utilize Meditech EMR system in a collaborative team environment with 22 nursing staff members- Day shift staffing includes 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator; Night shift includes 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT- Navy or white scrubs dress code (mix and match permitted)**Requirements:** - Active Virginia RN license or compact state license- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience mandatory- Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patient care- Experience with chest tube management and epidural care- Excellent teamwork abilities and time management skills with high patient turnover**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic progressive care environment where you'll utilize advanced cardiac and surgical nursing skills while caring for a diverse patient population.
